“Krypton” has been canceled after two seasons at Syfy. In addition, the NBCUniversal cabler is not moving ahead with a planned “Lobo” spinoff. “Krypton,” set two…

This is such a shame, I really enjoyed the first season and their version of Brainiac is the best one. Their version of Zod is best too, and should I even mention how perfect Lobo is here?

What a waste.

From Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales is joining the Nendoroid series! This fully articulated Nendoroid action figure features an even more robust and detailed design than conventional Nendoroids in order to faithfully recreate his character design from the film. The DX version includes another complete figure body featuring his casual clothes layered over his costume, an outfit seen near the end of the film, recreated in outstanding detail. He can also be displayed with or without his hood on, making for a wide variety of display options. Comes with 2x heads: a masked head and unmasked head with removable front hair parts. A miniature handheld version of his mask is also included in order to display him as though he removed his mask to show his face. In addition to various included hand parts, he also comes with a special hand part for holding his mask, as well as a spider web optional part. Measures roughly 4-inches tall.

PUNK MAMBO 5 Comic Review for week of August 16th, 2019
The end of a relatively interesting story that never really captured me. This was my first real introduction to the character and for all intents and purposes she’s a fairly irredeemable character

STAR WARS ADVENTURES ANNUAL 2019 Comic Review for week of August 16th, 2019
Two fun stories in a book that has a legit spine.

THE ORVILLE 2 Comic Review for week of August 16th, 2019
Good wrap up of a story that I would have read 10+ issues of. I hope they revist this planet and history again.

STAR TREK YEAR FIVE 4 Comic Review for week of August 16th, 2019
Spock rocks the vote, all while the Enterprise is helplessly floating around space doing not much of anything because of a mutiny attempt.

SECOND COMING 2 Comic Review for week of August 16th, 2019
I’m still surprised at how earnest and wholesome this series has ended up being. Sure, it opens on a decapitation, but that served the story well.

UNNATURAL 1 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Borderline pornography, but boy howdy does it take it’s basic premise and run with it. I’m going to get the collections and see how I like them.

THE PUNISHER 14 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Punisher is asked to team up with Night Thrasher, Moon Knight, and another mysterious guest star. I dig the idea here and where they’re going with it.

KICK ASS 16 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Still enjoying the story, still digging the black and white covers.

TREES 1 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
This was a huge month for Image Firsts, with a few good ones like Unnatural and this one “Trees”, which is about a post first contact Earth in which the Aliens don’t even recognize us as something they’d like to communicate with. Another one that I’ll eventually get the trades for and consume at a later date.

FALLEN WORLD 4 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Dan Abnett can do no wrong, I’ll die on this hill if I have to.

large 408032 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
I love the story they’re telling here, but absolutely hate the art style.

STAR WARS 70 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Honeymooners getting busy in the back rooms of the Honeymoon Hotel!

IMAGE FIRSTS ICE CREAM MAN 1 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Is this the same Ice Cream Man that shows up in the DC comics as well? I’m a fan of the horror story that’s going on here but have no clue what the ICM has to offer. Interesting enough to suggest the issue to anyone interested in horror stories, but not interesting enough to check out other issues.

OBLIVION SONG 1 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
I’ve been buying this series since I noticed my LCS had nearly the entire run for cover price, and I’m still missing about 4 issues, so I was holding them all until I had the entire run, but then I forgot I was doing that and read this one. Guess I’ll have to move up my purchases of the other missing issues so I can just read through them all asap, because I loved this first issue.

SENSATIONAL SPIDER MAN SELF IMPROVEMENT 1 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
I have no clue why I put this on my pull list. It was an ok story, but I can’t remember what the hook was that got me interested.

ISOLA 1 IMAGE FIRSTS EDITION Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
I was not prepared for how weird this story was going to be, but I’ll keep an eye out for trades at future conventions, it seemed interesting enough to read the full story.

CRIMINAL 1 IMAGE FIRSTS EDITION Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
Warren Ellis is one of the good writers out there, and this was a good first issue, but there’s no story elements that would make me come back to this.

SECTION ZERO 5 Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
This comic was not made available to me, either through LCS or Diamond problems.

GIDEON FALLS 1 IMAGE FIRSTS EDITION Comic Review for week of August 7th, 2019
I remember buying and reading the first issue of this series and not being interested in what they were putting down. That remains to be the truth.

Not new, but still needs a mention:
Robin: Son of Batman
LCS had nearly the entire run for $.25 an issue, so I grabbed these and read through most of them. Great art and great story, all featuring a character that I haven’t really had much exposure to, the new Robin, which is the actual son of Bruce Wayne. I missed out on all these shenanigans when they were originally happening, as I had checked out of the comic book scene for a bit, but I’m happy to have the opportunity to read them now.
