I didn’t realize that this story was going to wrap up the way it did, but it’s a great book regardless. I had wondered what the end game was for one of the characters and as long as it stays this way, I’m happy with it.

Jonathan Swift’s timeless political satire takes a saucy turn when a student, Gullivera, finds herself shipwrecked. Barely clad and washed up on a beach she’s t

I received this as a part of a HumbleBundle and it’s much more pornographic than I thought it was going to be, but it’s also much better than it has any right being. It’s a 1995 adaption of Jonathan Swift’s 1726 “Gulliver’s Travels” which was a satirical rip on European politics and governments of the day. Manara’s version of the story is more luridly salacious, foregoing any kind of society commentary for expertly drawn female genitalia. I think I’m a fan of Milo’s now though, because if anything I love his take on the feminine form.

The next volume in the bestselling Eisner, Hugo, Harvey & British Fantasy Award-winning series by MARJORIE LIU and SANA TAKEDA! The long-dreaded war between the Federation and Arcanics is about to explode. Maika must choose her next steps: will she help her friends, or strike out on her own? COLLECTS MONSTRESS #25-30

Volume five of this fantastic story with captivating artwork, the first third is setting the scene for the latter two thirds, so it’s slow going, but there’s a significant amount of pay off by the end. It’s clearly not the end of the story, but it’s certainly building to something amazing.

Okay, so we haven’t been 100% honest with you. No, we still won’t be stopping. No, it’s still about Spider-Man and the biggest craziest fight of his life. It’s just, there’s something we’ve been teasing you along with that is really a trick (on both you and Spider-Man) that… Well… you’re just going to have to read the issue.

I stopped doing single issue reviews when I realized that there wasn’t enough content to truly get a review of the story, art, and other associated comic book points into a post that would be read by anyone, as well as the problem of a story being a fan and entertaining ride with great art and story, but then something happening with no warning on the business side of things that effect the series as it is. That’s what happened here, with the 5th issue being a fun ride, but then ends with a letter from the author saying that’s the last issue and there will be a continuation (maybe) somewhere else (maybe) and to just keep your eyes open for it.

I liked this series and I’m saddened to see it get the Marvel Axe. I think I might come up with dumb names for the dumb things that Marvel does:

The Marvel Axe = canceled without warning or story resolution
The Marvel Shuffle = entirely new creative team in the middle of a story
The Marvel Crossover Syndrome = when a solo character/team spends their entire series dealing with the quarterly Marvel Comic Universe’s crossover with little to no story dedicated to the poor people trying to just live their lives. Lookin at you Champions.

Browse the Marvel Comics issue Armor Wars (2015) #1. Learn where to read it, and check out the comic’s cover art, variants, writers, & more!

I grabbed this complete mini series several years ago at a comic convention, I think it was only $2 for the entire thing. I was hoping that it was a continuation or a variation of the original Armor Wars story line from the 80’s that I greatly enjoyed, but it’s not, it’s a completely different thing that drops you into the middle of a story that started in another mini series (or maybe the mainline Secret Wars mini?) and doesn’t give much information on what happened other than “everything is gone, but here we are!” kind of synopsis that only let to more confusion.

It’s best if you consider this an alternate dimensional take on characters that you know and love. This is an ok story, but I’m not a fan of the lack of context that’s going on here, it wasn’t until the final issue that I remembered that the “Secret Wars” storyline featured multiple dimensions of the same characters in cities or teams or something like that. In this case it was the “Thor League” that showed up in the final book to take the bad guys off to some unknown prison.

As an afterthought, I’ll bet you this is where the Secret Wars MCU series is going to take itself, with multidimensional character lines that will ultimately result in Iron Man and Captain America coming back from the ‘dead’.
