halonet Bungie handing over Halo community services to 343 in March

As of March 31, 2012, Bungie will no longer host any Halo services on Bungie.net. Current Halo data will be transferred to 343 and, at that time, “all live Halo data will be managed by 343 Industries, and Bungie will no longer be able to update game stats and player service records, to host new user generated content, or to operate the Bungie Pro service.” Using a peculiar bit of language, Bungie notes that “any replacement functionality” will be hosted by Halo Waypoint on halo.xbox.com.

Sad to see bungie moving on, but 343’s done pretty well so far, I’ve been fairly happy with the Halo Waypoint relaunch, and very happy with Halo Anniversary.

my only hope is that this will be better than the first one.

And it’s got the Rock and Bruce Willis in it, so…yep.

“I tend to take this latest development as a kind of eager confirmation that they are still apparently dependent on ideas that I had 25 years ago.”

of course, we already knew that he has a bone to pick with the comic book industry on a whole and DC in particular, so it’s no surprise that he’s not rainbows and sunshine about the situation.  My opinion of course, is that this may be one of the worst things, or the best things, to ever happen to DC.  They seem to be struggling to find a clear direction to go in with their properties, something that Marvel/Disney seems to be doing damn well.

fleet beat cover fixed 394x500 Fleet Beat magazine cover

I only wish this were a real magazine. Kirk is just so dreamy

via boldly gone a webseries that I just picked up, and am enjoying very much, it’s about another pretty good captain in the star trek ‘verse that feels like he’s constantly getting overshadow’s by kirk’s accomplishments.

miranda kerr wonder woman Austrailian Supermodel Miranda Kerr as Wonder Woman

“We’re a fashion magazine — and this is art,” says Thelma. “We’re taking a risk — because Wonder Woman is a globally recognised icon and not just anyone could pull it off. But Miranda is an Australian icon herself… She is our wonder woman. And she has the presence to pull this re-creation off.”
